The mission of the Hackettstown High School English Department is to inspire students to appreciate the universality of human experience through exposure to the written word in its many forms; to encourage them to think independently, creatively and analytically; to strengthen their skills of self-expression, both written and oral; and to build their understanding of the history and structure of the English language.
