Parents & Guardians,
This is a message from the high school administration. We are now in the second full week of August, and the 2025-2026 school year is approaching quickly. School officially begins this year on August 27th. Students will be in session for two (2) early dismissal days on the 27th and 28th before enjoying a four-day Labor Day weekend. The first full day of school is scheduled for September 2nd. In the meantime, please be sure to ask your child how summer assignments are going. They have been posted on the HHS website since June and can be found under recent news or the Student Resources tab.
As my office has done in the past, later this week I will release my first short video highlighting an important topic for the upcoming school year. Additional videos will be posted leading up to the start of school to help each parent (both returning and new families) find the information they need as we prepare for an exciting start to the year. Please expect the first video to cover new arrival and dismissal procedures. This has been a focus for all district buildings and will be discussed at tomorrow night's Board of Education meeting. As I share these videos, I encourage you to watch them with your child or children to ensure everyone hears the same message. Also, please mark your calendar because full access to the Parent Portal will be available at the end of the day on August 14th. After parents or guardians complete the required district questions, access will be granted and your student's schedules will be visible.
We hope you are having an enjoyable summer and look forward to another excellent year at HHS!
Sincerely,
Kyle S. Sosnovik, Principal
Hackettstown High School
