Grading Requirement: To pass credit recovery, students will need to meet three expectations successfully:

  1. Attend all classes in person
  2. Complete all assigned work
  3. Pass the mid and end-of-course exams with a minimum grade of 65%

Cost: The summer credit recovery program is free for students and families. If they choose not to participate, they will need to find another way to demonstrate successful completion of the course. If an alternative program outside of this one is selected, any associated fees will be the responsibility of the student and/or parent. Furthermore, it is strongly recommended that the student’s school counselor be informed of any outside program chosen to ensure that HHS will accept the transcript or credit from it. Not all outside programs are accepted, so it is advisable to obtain approval before enrolling in any program. If the student and family decide against any recovery program during the summer, the student will be required to repeat the course. The student’s counselor will schedule the course for the following year.

What happens if a student fails another course outside of English or Math? HHS only provides free services for English and Math. If a student wants to explore other options for other failed courses, they need to meet with their guidance counselor.

What happens if the student passes the course by the last day of school when grades are posted? If, by the end of marking period four, the student passes the Mathematics or English course they are enrolled in, they will not need to recover credit through the Summer Recovery Program and will be withdrawn.
