Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year!
Hello, students and families!
My name is Melissa Mandas, and I am honored to teach special education at Hackettstown High School. This year, I will work with students in Life Skills I, Life Skills II, English, Math, Science, and History.
My teaching approach is rooted in the belief that every student can learn, grow, and experience success. Through differentiated instruction, individualized support, multisensory learning, and real-world experiences, I strive to meet students where they are while helping them build confidence, independence, and meaningful skills for the future.
Our classroom is a place where students are encouraged to recognize their strengths, take appropriate risks, advocate for themselves, and celebrate their progress. I look forward to creating a positive and supportive classroom community and working in partnership with students, families, and staff throughout the year.
Google Classroom will be updated regularly with detailed information for each class, including announcements, assignments, resources, and due dates.
