hi my name is Miss McMahon and I am one of the health and physical education teachers at Hackettstown high school and I wanted to introduce you to some of our staff and have some of her staff talk about some of our policies that we will be following any upcoming our staff includes mr. Barnhart who use your phone in a little bit Mister Behringer Mr macdonagh myself Miss over here and miss sikora hello everybody my name is Ben Barnhart health and phys-ed teacher at Hackettstown High School purpose this videos to just give you a basic outline of some of the things that you're going to need for next fall coming into a class for the first time as you can see on my screen I have the course syllabus hold up here this is something that we will go over on the first day of class as well as you'll be giving a hard copy this to keep throughout the duration of the course I'm going to get down here a little bit I'm just some but you're going to need first and foremost so you will need a change of appropriate PPE attire for every day that we have class that includes a change of a t-shirt sweatshirt Etc same thing with a pair of pants sweatpants shorts you're also going to need to have on appropriate athletic shoes will talk about that a little bit more here in a minute so the phys-ed department operates out of the old gym of the high school was the female locker room is located near the cafeteria and the boys locker room you got to actually enter into the old Jim and it's going to be off to your right so just some Basics on how things work you have to be in the locker room by the time the late Bell Rings you check in for a tennis with whoever is in the how to run the teacher listen to lock room at that time regardless of a fat is your teacher who gives your grade so for example female that has me listed as their teacher will go into the female locker room and either misses McMinn Miss or a missile rear will mark them down for a tenant once the Bell Rings you have 5 minutes to change into your PE attire and then you have to come back out into the gym going along with that you will need to provide a lock to lock up your longings during the time of your class it's just so that your stuff is safe that way nobody can go in and try to go through your belongings steal your belongings anything like that it can be a combination lock it can be a lock with a key whatever is easiest are you but you are going to need to show your PE teacher that lock and we'll check you off that you have them just so that everybody as long as they're going to be sick you'll keep everything in there for a day and then when you leave at the end of the. You're going to take all of that stuff with you in clue your lock so you're not giving a locker that you can keep because I lock rooms are not big enough for everybody to have their locker based on the size of our class the once again do you need a class will change into your visit a tire to lock everything up you'll come out in the gym activity for the day you'll complete then you'll get 5 minutes at the end of the. Go back in change back into your clothes and then take your stuff including your lock with you once bell ring we do have a tour of your late policy on that something that will get into more school year starts so what does it mean if you do not bring appropriate business attire attire for the day it's just a patient is one of the biggest things with your grade so if you're not able to participate because you did not bring appropriate p a tire it is go thank you for your great that policy is outlined here and again we will go over that more on the first day of school as far as clothes that you can bring basically the easiest way to put it follows the School dress code so if it's not something that where in the building to start the school day it's not something you're going to be able to change into for the duration of a PE class t-shirts sweatshirts all that stuff is going to be okay breakdown of what that should look like is he same thing with shorts and sweatpants and then sneakers as I mentioned earlier sneakers are typically the biggest thing you can have proper t-shirt on and a proper pair of shorts but not have sneakers you're not going to be able to do anything for that class. And you got a point and you're also not going to be able to participate well we have no jewelry policy which means any kind of jewelry necklaces earrings anything like that has to come off to put them in your locker you lock him up and then you'll put it back on at the at the end of. When you go back in the chicken the mother things there are times where you met miss a class for whatever reason if you're sick you'll go see the nurse if you have some kind of injury short-term and go see the nurse has well she may write you an excuse and then you do not have to dissipate that day same thing over what's the school year you make it pulled from class to go down to the guidance counselor or somewhere else that's not going to affect your grade as long as you have a past dating where you're going in that you're going to be excused medical tell if you have a long-term weather that's 5 days weeks by week 9 weeks you may have to or you're going to have to sorry complete medical work which means you'll check in with your teacher you'll go down do the library and you'll create some kind of assignment based on what is posted on our Google Classroom that will get you credit for the course instead of your participation and write the overall big checklist of things that you're going to need a lock be able to lock up your belong and I just appropriate thank you mr. Barnhart for that information moving on 2 rpe units in our greeting in quarter or East Martin. We are going to beginning with a fitness assessment that assesses five different Fitness areas to establish not only a bass line but each quarter will also in the same Fitness assessments to measure effort and improved each of our quarters also are broken up into three different units which is what you're going to be graded on its unit is consisted of a different activities whether individual or team activities to participate in along with the daily fitness component that we will be discussing more when we see you coming in the class right specifically on our grading policy everyday you have an opportunity to earn 6 points that is broken down between 3 price on our 21st century skills and the activities that you participate in and three points for the fitness component your attitude sportsmanship teamwork citizenship all of that will determine door 24 play Centuries by participation and effort as well as skills of the activities in which we go over and that will Encompass 45% of your grade participation and effort will also determine be determined in your fitness component which 45% of your grade and that's your daily Fitness and then the quarterly assessment switcher including in our performance assessment at the end of the quarter as well as any quizzes or tests that go on throughout the unit that will be 10% of final grade on our no dressing policy but I also means that even if you dress every single day does not mean that you were going to automatically pass I'm just like any other course you must complete the curriculum with Jeff McGee participating in effort to pass physical education and not dressing will on will result in six points off of your marking. Grade on the six unprepared you will lose credit for the marking.
