Carly Simon working at the school this year for world history in which I am mister of our whole and this is the tentative course overview as you see if in the upper right hand corner is my email address it is. Tomorrowland hackettstown.org and we see we have world history here it is covering from classical civilizations in government restart the course doesn't officially start we kind of review the customizations the course actually begins around the Renaissance but we like to do just going to reflect back on with classical civilizations are cuz the Renaissance itself is a rebirth of those one thing we do we like to focus light on is systems of government because of the fact that this is one thing that we're going to use that'll be a common theme for the entire year the type of government that are developing type that flirt we're going to talk about democracy that will be in teaching preschoolers about Republic Estates absolute monarchy limited monarchy federalism Central Authority and it states we we start out with governments we look at classical civilizations and then we make our way through these variant topics we try to infused current events or things that are going on around the world that we can associate with other events that were talking about so the greeting of the course 85% of your grade is going to come from assessments assessments AR Quizzes unit test project papers Sachar 50% pure agent categories of 21st century which is homework class preparation preparedness participation and then you have midterms and finals now let me go back to home homework can also fall in 85% category if it is something that I collect and I'm reading for accuracy rather than a holistic read which I'm checking for completion here so homework in appear in both categories and again you have midterms and you have fun in Siri it calculates out to be almost as if you have 5 marking periods when you factor in midterm and what you need to do they just tell him nothing New York been in school long enough you know how to conduct yourself but we know we want to have you prepared for just hitting productively in all class activities if you don't know an answer in your call. I need to give us what you think is possibly a good answer. You know we're not always correct we're not always right but that doesn't mean we don't give an effort to try this time it's on time there's any makeup work to be done if you're absent that is in color find out what you're missing but you need to submit that in a timely fashion you need to maintain a notebook that we no longer have student agendas but I highly recommend that you keep some sort of an agenda for yourself dzine keep up with the sign need any extra help by all means arrange for it I also strongly recommend that you would use the tutors at school here in the library after school April B note the noted by subject matter on certain days of the week in which Toby Savory simply math teacher already history teacher available for extra help and I asked you to take care of any type take care of any profit books any equipment materials or anything that are from given to you as if it is your own be respectful now actually be be prompt be prepared be attentive be respectful be responsible as you will know and learn there are expectations of being on time for class in which your tardies add up to absences so being on time is really important be prepared as part of the 21st Century skills again being attentive being respectful all right respect is a two-way street I expect you to give respect to get respect and I expect you to respect other people's opinions you responsible for coming to class on time be responsible bring materials Etc as is all that is needed to be a responsible student and then you'll see these are some indicators of things that we will be doing all right quiz test readings research midterm finals ratings presentation project notebooks homework me observing you and doing all those things that we had mentioned aren't these are some activities that will be doing you know nothing new nothing earth-shattering we're going to be getting into the nuts and bolts of History all right when we first starts the first couple days of school you'll get a hard copy of this you also had me go through with you again in which I will provide with you for you classroom rules of next patients that are cool inside along with the school's rules and expectations
