hello everyone Mister Valenti Mister V or Coach B I go by as well this slide presentation will focus on US 1 CP and CPA forgive me if I'm reading from stuff that you on the slides some of the things I will add to but I just want to make sure we're on the same page I hope you and your family and of course your friends as well I've had a very happy and healthy and enjoyable summer and let's go some of the expectations and then we'll break down the creek elem as well what you will need to bring a glass every day to be successful I know it sounds kind of strange to say a functioning black or blue pen or pencil but please make sure what you bring the class right right swell make sure you have an organized comprehensive history notebook as you see I've name and date materials get in the habit of putting your name and date on everything that I give you and really everything that you write down so you can keep an organized too often I find students who wore clearly organized are the ones that do rather poorly when it comes to quizzes and tests to make sure that you you keep up with your new book cuz it will help you when we come to the and you need to prepare an organized history notebook it should be three separate 3-ring binder with a place to hold study guides or other materials given throughout the course or a desert Stepford section in a comprehensive multi-course notebook please make sure your first and last name and date are all papers that I give you I will give you numerous study guides that will be worth that we will go through in class some of that we will go over as a class and some things I'm going to ask you to fill in from the readings and from your research please bring your textbook the Americans at your textbook for this course please make sure you bring it to class everyday until further notice I have been evil in the past if we had enough books to have a class set room primarily is a 32 I'm not sure if your class will meet many 32 but most of my classes do and if I'm able to have a class set I will of course have your school issued ID on you at all times and displayed of course come with a positive attitude even has to learn the curriculum and good work ethic now let's go over was actually in the correction what you're going to be study of course when to start with an overview of early English colonization and how that led into a horse what turns out to be the first people call the first world war between France and England to seven years war in the Americas is known as the French and Indian War and then how that becomes a catalyst for rebellion in the colonies taxes imposed taxes are initiated height restrictions on movement or issued by the king the Countess of course you're angry and upset and how that's going to lead to that Rebellion is going to lead to the American Revolution nanatsu Revolution we're going to discuss horse thoroughly the Constitution and I really want you to take hold of the right that we have and understand where they came from what the founding those were thinking and really have a much better grasp of what our rights and responsibilities are As Americans that will work into early America get a foundation of what it looks like understanding the difference the Region's the New England region the Middle Atlantic where we live and down into the southern route was the southern colonies became the Southern States then we'll work into the debate we're slavery and heats up as those separation become bigger and bigger and we start to see that effect what happens in the United States and which leads to of course the American Civil War and we'll talk about the American Civil War in detail and then move into of course the aftermath which is reconstruction and then we'll push Westward Western at The Clash of cultures at some people's headaches cultures on the Prairie I can move out west and our relationship with native peoples out west and then we'll come back East primarily and deal with industrialization and how the Industrial Revolution affected United States and really as our relationship was to the world at the time I was affected the world as well still working to immigration urbanization and political corruption they're all tied to it's sort of like a Venn diagram how to share a lot of commonalities then we'll deal with the beginning of the new century progressivism or move into American and pure set the stage for World War they will work into the Roaring Twenties and how it changed the siding culture many people looking at that has her first modern decade and then unfortunately we're going to wrap it up with the Great Depression in dealing with the social political and economic effects of the Great Depression and we'll look at FDR Franklin Delano Roosevelt and his New Deal programs to try to cure the Ales now how will your marking. Grade be calculated well in our history Farm in social studies Department 85% will come from formal assessments test Wizards papers and projects maybe even a debate here in there 15% will come from what's known as 21st century skills in participation in class is an eager to learn the curriculum for be active in your learning class work and of course homework as well okay wrap this up this is contributing to a positive classroom environment of course preparing for and participating productively in all class activities I find year after year it's the students who are most involved most engaged in class day in and day out for the ones that are most successful submitting Simon's on time of course and submitting any makeup work promptly if you're going to be absent make sure when you come back to school you let me know asked me what what what did I miss in class lamenting and notebook as I mentioned before arranging for extra help if you need it taking proper care of your books and of course all materials that give you including all the outline all the God please put your first and last name on those and the dates when I give them to you to wrap this up of course prompt being prepared being attentive during class being respectful being responsible and of course trying your best if you do these things you're going to be much more successful day in and day out in this course please enjoy the rest of your summer take care and good luck this coming school year
